Catastrophic injuries and illnesses present unique challenges requiring case managers with special skills, temperaments and experiences. Catastrophic cases pose many questions for the survivor, the family, the employers and the professionals involved. In addition, such injuries and disabilities present unique and challenging problems including long term medical costs and specialized care. Essential to effective management of catastrophic cases are the following:

  • Immediate Case Manager assignment and action
  • Focused, timely, informed and goal oriented medical management, involving all impacted parties in an understanding, compassionate and professional manner
  • Use of highly experienced, credentialed case managers who employ "case smart" solutions to achieve positive return to work solutions
