Interactive Job Search
The Interactive Job Search service is provided by an ISYS specialist
The purpose of this service is to determine if the employer has any alternative or modified positions they can offer the employee. (Sometimes this service is done after the employer has informed the insurance provider that they do not, and the ISYS Specialist is being asked to confirm that through research). The Interactive Job Search is useful to the provider because it demonstrates a "good faith" effort to identify suitable modified or alternate positions available. The Interactive Job Search is useful to the employer because it reduces lost time expenses, worker replacement, and training costs. The Interactive Job Search is useful to the injured work because it provides suitable alternative employment options, consistent with background, skills, and interests.
Vocational Assessment
A Vocational Assessment is a one time assignment service which an ISYS specialist completes in order to explain the voucher system, also known as the "Supplemental Job Displacement Benefit". This can be completed upon the claims professional determining eligibility or it can be requested prior, in cases where the employee does not return to work within 60 days after temporary disability ending and the employer doesn't offer modified or alternative employment. In these instances it serves to assist the insurance provider in assessing whether or not the vocational voucher benefit should be offered. The Vocational Assessment is based on a meeting held with the employee during which information is obtained regarding medical history, work history, and interests. The voucher system is explained to the employee as a "potential" benefit and they are made aware that should they qualify for it, the amount that they may qualify for (maxing at $10,000) depends on the percentage of permanent disability (which is determined by their doctor).
Vocational Rehabilitation
ISYS Vocational Specialists conduct Vocational Rehabilitation for those eligible under the pre-04' law. This begins with an Initial Evaluation at which time Vocational Rehabilitation is explained including the responsibilities of all parties. Once feasibility is determined potential plans are explored, at this time testing may be implemented and potential costs are considered. The vocational plan is then developed and once approved, it is monitored until completion.
More about Job Analysis' and Ergonomic EvaluationsJob Analysis'
The Job Analysis is a detailed job description conducted by an ISYS specialist at the work-site. It is based on observation of the job being performed and information provided by the employer and employee. The document is typically used for presentation to the primary treating physician with a response form requesting their review and comment regarding the employee's ability to return to the usual and customary position, however can be used for a number of purposes and may also be requested for modified positions as well. Pictures can be taken at the worksite upon request for attachment to the Job Analysis Report. Note: The essential duties/functions are reported in the Job Analysis and all ISYS Job Analyses are compliant with HIPPA and ADA.
ISYS also provides a Representative Job Analysis Service which is completed onsite and is not based on a specific employee's job duties within a position, but solely on the requested position. The process is similar to the standard Job Analysis; however the meeting is held with the employer only at the job-site or may be completed with another employer in the same field if needed. A Job Bank is yet another option under this service category, and this service is usually performed for employers directly. The Job Bank entails ISYS worksite evaluators meeting with the employer at the work place and conducting Representative Job Analysis meetings on several or all positions within the company, in order to compile an internal job bank for use by the employer for any number of purposes, including but not limited to worker's compensation. Ergonomic Evaluations
The Ergonomic Evaluation is provided by ISYS specialists. A meeting is conducted at the worksite with the employer and employee, at which time the employee is observed for an extended period at their workstation performing their essential duties. The employee's habits and equipment are observed and noted. Proper ergonomic position and posturing are explained and discussed as needed. Handouts are provided to the employee with suggestions on how to improve work habits. Photographs are taken of the workstation and equipment for further assessment. Research is then conducted into potential ergonomic workstation benefits and solutions/recommendations are then suggested in a detailed report submitted to the insurance provider and employer. Ergonomic Evaluations can also be submitted to a treating physician for review and comment if requested.
Ergonomic Evaluations can be a useful preventative tool for Employer's Human Resource Departments as well. ISYS provides ongoing evaluations to employers upon request and arrangements can be made to do company wide evaluations, new hire evaluations, change of workstation evaluations, and other as needed ergonomic assessments. ISYS also provides ergonomic in-service trainings at employer sites. ISYS ergonomic evaluations are ADA compliant. |
